Vanderbilt Law School offers a range of dual degree programs in conjunction with other Vanderbilt University graduate schools. Prospective students must apply to each school separately and be admitted independently, and financial aid is granted and administered separately by each school. The exception is the PhD in Law and Economics, which has a uniform admissions process and where students receive full scholarship support that covers full tuition and scholarships for both degrees, and while JD/MSF students apply for admission to each program separately, law school scholarship support may be available during the Business School enrollment semester. For first-year J.D. students admitted to the MSF programme before enrolment, their places at Owen are reserved for their third year. Other Vanderbilt J.D. students can apply for the Owen M.S.F. During their first or third semester at law school, and if admitted, you can complete the dual degree program without extending your time in law school beyond three academic years. `67, generously established the Cheek Business Law Scholarship and Cheek Summer Scholarships to financially support deserving students enrolled in the Law & Business program. Each year, the Faculty of Law selects at least one Cheek Business Law Scholar to receive additional scholarships for his/her second and third year of study who complete the Certificate in Law and Business, and Cheek Summer Scholarships support experience opportunities in government agencies, courts, or other specific contexts that enhance preparation for a career in business law. Students who wish to pursue a dual degree program with a graduate program with which the law school does not have formal double degree agreements can offer a personalized double degree program. Students typically continue their courses in the first three semesters and devote most of their time in the fourth semester to completing the thesis.
