Construction Technician I/II

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Technician I or II and are seeking a qualified individual with underground utility, asphalt paving and/or water/wastewater treatment plant experience. The individual will be responsible for field engineering and construction monitoring at various project sites in Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties. The distinction between CT I and CT II is the attained level of experience and education.
Responsibilities include contract compliance monitoring; observation and reporting of construction activities; coordination of quality control testing; tracking and coordinating adjustments to project schedule; and maintaining client goals and expectations. Office duties may include assisting with contract administration services such as reviewing submittals, responding to requests for information, and maintaining construction contract logs and files.
Required Qualifications:
Construction Technician I
- Minimum 2 years of experience as construction estimator, foreman or superintendent or 1 year of prior construction inspection experience
- Experience with a variety of project types such as underground utilities, concrete or steel structures, asphalt paving, mechanical pumping and/or water /wastewater treatment systems
- Microsoft Office Suite familiarity
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Valid California Driver’s License
Construction Technician II
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with 0 years of experience; OR
Minimum 4 years of experience as construction estimator, foreman or superintendent or 2 years of prior construction inspection experience
- Coursework or experience with a variety of project types such as underground utilities, concrete, masonry or steel structures, asphalt paving, coatings, pipe fusing, sewer linings, mechanical pumping and/or water/wastewater treatment systems
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Valid California Driver’s License
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of California State construction standards (Caltrans)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software
- California E.I.T. Registration
- QSP or other specialized certifications
- Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat®
- OSHA Hazwoper 40-Hour training
