Measure A Sales Tax Update:
Some of you may be tiring of news about the Measure A sales tax going before the voters in a few weeks. To those that are weary of it, I apologize.
Behind the scenes is an all-out effort by a lot of people to see that this Measure is passed and is administered properly. What is happening right now? Various Supervisors are meeting with local groups, debating with the Sonoma County Taxpayers Association (last night in Petaluma), and presenting information to various City Councils in Windsor, Cloverdale, Healdsburg, Sebastopol, Sonoma, and Cotati.
Supervisor Rabbitt has been a champion from the start. Chairwoman Gorin has been tirelessly working on this tax measure. We have precinct walkers going door to door, meetings with Newspaper editorial boards, and interviews being done on radio. Mailers have been sent out to prospective voters. Phone banks are active and are calling likely voters three times a week.
A MAJOR FUNDRAISER IS SCHEDULED FOR SONOMA RACEWAY FOR MAY 19 FROM 4:30-6:30PM. Through your campaign donation, you will be given the rare opportunity to ride the same track as legendary race car drivers! See flyer for more information.
The ECA is asking for your help. Some firms have stepped up and written checks but the campaign “sprint” is in danger of being halted due to lack of funding. WE NEED YOU TO HELP OUT! Better roads are in everyone’s best interest, but none more so than our membership. The lack of our members stepping up and writing checks is causing other non-construction firms to sit on their wallets.
I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT RIGHT NOW. Others will follow. It is time to lead!
